Graz
Today we're having an all-day trip to Graz, Austria's second largest city. The weather really turned rainy and cold overnight.

The artificial "island" on the river. It has a coffee shop and even a playground in it. Can rise and fall with the water level. Sharon bought some chestnuts from the vendor nearby. Mmm... Chestnuts...

The room in the restaurant where we were sitting. It has medieval decor with armours and swords :P
The lunch was ok except the portions were really small and the fish wasn't really cooked enough and tasted fishy. I forgot that you have to pay extra for the bread... The restaurants here are evil! They know you'd be dead hungry when you come in and can't resist to eat the bread instead of waiting for your order!

After lunch we went to the Freilichtmuseum Stuebing, the open-air museum. It's a museum of traditional Austrian buildings from past centries. Pretty primitive stuff!

A farm house
The main room of the farm house. It's a living room, dining room, kitchen, and even has a box bed for a sick family member so the woman of the house can take care of him/her more easily. The woman is supposed to keep the open fire place on the entire year because it's bad luck to have the fire go out. The fire is only allowed to die down on Easter Friday, and the children will bring the holy fire from the church on Easter Saturday. The open fire place does not have a chimney, so the smoke collects below the ceiling to dry firewood and smoke meat and only escapes through a smoke vent. "As long as you sit down, the smoke won't bother you!?"
A new room was added beside the kitchen later. It has a really low door so the smoke wouldn't get in. The smoke-free condition was a "big improvement in life quality!?"
