Mom in Vienna: Night at the Ballet

Mom and I went back to the Staatsoper another night for the Nutcracker. Mom seemed to enjoy the ballet a lot more than the opera.

The show's starting!

the Christmas party

rats undergound in sewer system

soldiers fighting rats

the rat king taking Clara away!!

dance of the snowflakes

During intermission. We got the cheapest sitting ticket this time, but it was so far back we need to stand to see the stage anyways. But fortunately one of the balcony seats in my box is a no-show so I actually got to sit at the front! Super lucky!

clowns

the calvary, complete with butt shaking

the metador

Arabian dance

Chinese dance

Russian Trepak

final duel between nutcracker and rat king! guess who won?

the final waltz

curtain call

Finally a picture of the Staatsoper!

I'm sorry to say that this is all the things I did with mom in Vienna. The timing just wasn't right during the busiest time of school (or should I say I'm always away from Vienna traveling except for the busiest time of school...) But we had some good time and I'm glad mom had a chance to come see Europe as well.
