Central Europe Trip - Day 1: Muenchen

Before school starts in October, a couple of friends and I went on a 2-week trip around central Europe. We had so much fun but it was also very tiring because we went to so many places and we were always on the move. We didn't everything ourselves so everywhere we went we had to figure out where to sleep, where to eat, where to go, how to get there and so on.

On a Sunday we caught the 8am train to Muenchen. And again I couldn't get up on time and we just caught the train literally seconds before its departure. Sorry girls... Turned out this is our way of catching trains... We're always there just barely in time.

On the train

Muenchen Hauptbahnhof. It always takes so long to figure things out every time you go to a new place. We spent quite a bit of time at the train station just to figure out what train to take next and what public transportation to take.

The hostel we stayed at. It's an HI hostel, and it's one of the most expensive hostels we stayed at, costing more than 20 euros a night. It's nothing special but I guess things are just more expensive in Muenchen, plus we have to pay premium because it's Oktoberfest.

After we got everything settled down it was already late afternoon. We didn't want to waste the whole day so we went out for some sight seeing. First stop: Asamkirche

After a little sight seeing we headed towards Oktoberfest. We're in Muenchen after all! :P It's held at this amusement park at Theresienwiesse. People there really wear their Lederhosen and Dirndl!

There are 14 big tents at Oktoberfest, and we just picked one and went in. Look at all the crazy rowdy people drinking and singing and dancing on the table!

Eating Wurstl and Kartoffelknoedel with beer (yes i only drank a quarter Mass of beer, but I ate the entire Wurstl...) Prost! We met these crazy, frisky Italian guys in the tent who kept asking us to dance with them... I told them I don't know how to dance. I dont' know why we sat with them since I saw other free tables. Why didn't we meet some nice Bavarian guys instead of those loco Italian guys?

I kind of just wanted to take a look at Oktoberfest since I don't like drinking much, especially beer. But the other girls actually wanted to party so they stayed there with those nutty it's-okay-I'm-married Italian guys for a couple of hours, while I ventured outside to check out the amusement park by myself. It's a pretty big park with lots of vendors selling all kinds of treats.
