No More Traveling! (For Now...)

Phew!! After traveling to 18 cities in 12 countries, I don't think I have any energy (or $) left to do any more traveling... I feel so fortunate to be able to do this! Thanks to mom and sis for letting me go on exchange! :P I have seen so many beautiful places that most people in the world don't have a chance to. But for now I'll just stay put in Vienna... I actually haven't seen much of it since I've always away :P There are lots to see here as well, and I hope I'll get to visit most of the sights!

Barcelona: Day 2

The second day I decided to visit the Olympic park in Parc Montjuic. I passed by Placa Espanya when I arrived at Barcelona and it's an impressive sight.

Placa Espanya

.

Torres de l'Exposicio

Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya. Too bad the iluminated fountains weren't turned on :S There was a little bit of a hill but they had escalators everywhere :P

Pavello Mies van der Rohe

Caixa Forum, a multipurpose cultural centre

a view of the Av. Maria Cristina from the museum

the Olympic park

Olympic circle (stadium) with the big square in front of it. There was some children's fair taking place that day

view of the other side of parc Montjuic

some needle with Palau Sant Jordi on the left

inside the stadium

Joan Maragall Gardens

Palauet Albeniz

.

Fundacio Miro, an art gallery dedicated to the artist. I was sick and the cold medicine was making me drowsy so I sat down in the lobby and fell asleep... ^^|| I didn't go into the gallery since I didn't think I'd know what I'd be looking at anyways...

Placa de Toros les Arenes

After visiting the Olympic park I went back to the Gothic quarter to visit the Picasso museum... I should have applied my Miro wisdom here... The museum is basically just an art gallery of Picasso's work. I had no idea what I was looking at... I should have just spent my time going to Parc Guell instead :S

After I left the museum I decided to go by the beach for a walk. The weather cleared up and the beach was so great! :D

Marina Port Vell

Moll de la Barcelona, a nice promenade by the marina

And finally, the beach! The weather cleared up in the afternoon so there were lots of people strolling along the beach

After my walk on the beach there was no time left to go anywhere else :S I really regret not going to Parc Guell, but I was sick and felt weak the entire trip... So I guess I'll have to wait till the next time I'm in Barcelona, whenever that is :S

Casa Batillo, another famous building by Gaudi. I wanted to go in but the entrance fee was too expensive so I didn't :S

another beautiful building on the same street

And that's it for my trip to Barcelona. It's really a Modernist and stylish city, and it has a lot of trees everywhere too. I had a wonderful time even though I was sick and hope that I will have a chance to visit other cities in Spain.

I wish I could have gone home that night, but my flight was in the next morning so I had to spend another night at the hostel... And then traveling took up the entire day the next day, and by the time I got home it was already 6pm...
